I was first introduced to the game of golf by a summer program that I attended when I was about eight years old. Through that program I was able to get introductory lessons and was also able to play a bit of golf. This really peaked my interest in the sport and I began to take it more seriously. My mother began to enroll me in golf clinics whenever she could and I was fortunate enough to be able to continue in the program each summer. This has really had a great impact on the improvement in my golf game. ?I have also attended a week long golf camp each summer for the last four years. I attended these camps at one of my areas nicest golf courses, Independence. This has been a great motivator for me to want to continue to improve my golf game. While attending this camp I have been able to meet and learn from several camp instructors that are actually college students who are on golf scholarships. Along with their help and the help of the other instructors I was able to enhance my skills and earn a spot on my high schools golf team. There, I was selected to play on the varsity level as a freshman. I look forward to the new things that I will learn as I continue to practice and take advantage of all opportunities afforded to me in pursuit to become an excellent golfer.
