Personal Statement
I have grown up around the game of golf and have been playing for as long as I can remember. Golf has taught me a multitude of skills that include self-discipline, patience, responsibility, and acceptance. This game has helped me mature into the person I am today. Academically, I am constantly striving to push myself, and I am currently near the top of my class. I hope to find a college or university that is at or near the top academically, and into which I can also fit in the golf program.
By the age of 14, I was a scratch golfer and had numerous tournament success. When the next year began, I experienced swing problems and sought a solution through a swing coach. Despite the coach's best intentions, I did not improve but rather regressed. As this past season unfolded, I acquired a new swing coach and have gotten back on track. I intend to return to my previous level and even excel past it. As a player and in life, I will always fight through adversity and never quit regardless of circumstances. I proved this all throughout last year when I never let myself quit even when struggling through a swing change. I am still and always will continue working to constantly improve myself and my golf game. Being a two sport athlete and being active in school has taught me tremendous leadership skills. I believe I can bring these skills, along with resiliency and commitment to any program.
