Personal Statement
Character is very important to myself and my family. Ever since I was little, my parents have stressed character and being a good person before anything else in athletics or life. My biggest goal is to be the best person I can be over anything else, and therefore help my team by being a great teammate on and off the course. I didn't even like golf when I was younger, I picked it up in the summer before 8th grade and decided I wanted to put all my time in it to try to become the best I could be, because I just loved the game so much. When I set my mind to something, I put all my time and effort in it to learning anything and everything I can about it. Personally I think there's nothing better than getting up early to hit shots at the range, wiping fresh cut grass from the bottom of your clubface, and watching a putt drop. And so, that's exactly what I do almost every day that I can; practice, practice, practice. Not necessarily because I know that the only way you become truly successful is from hard work, but because I love golf. Similarly, my academic attitude is that everything I do in school is important, and I realized that I really want to play college golf and possibly professional, but If I wanted to go farther in my passion for golf, I would need to first become a great student. My future aspirations are always ever-changing, but I know one thing, and that is that I want to take my golf game to the highest level I can possibly get it, and I'm willing to do anything I can to improve myself mentally, physically, and academically to in turn help whatever team I am apart of, be successful.
Thanks for your time,
Jake
