Personal Statement
Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile. I promise it won't be a waste of your time.
Ever since I began golfing at the age of 10, my dream has been to play on the PGA Tour. Soon after I learned that if I wanted to achieve this goal, I not only needed a good education at a good college but the opportunity to play at the most elite colleges in the nation.
I am a very driven person who never truly feels I have reached my full potential because every time that I have reached a goal I make new ones with more challenges ahead. One of my goals in golf has been to become one of the most consistent high school players in the state and I feel as if I am getting closer each year. This year I not only had a 2.6 better nine hole scoring average than last year’s high school season, I also finished in the top five in each and every tournament the team entered and I won the tournament outright in eight of the fifteen events the team was in. This includes getting third at state in the 2015 season and helping my team clinch the Division II title and beating Division I and III while doing this.
Other things that are important to me include making sure I work hard not only in golf but in school and all other areas of my life. This is evident in my GPA which is above a 3.9 with over half of my classes being honors classes and no weighted grade system put into my GPA. Other things that I do with my time include being involved in my church youth group, being on the math team and playing basketball my freshman year.
Lastly, I think that I would be a good candidate for your college because I will work my tail off in every aspect of the college experience with my school work and my golf game. I feel that hard work pays off, so I hope you will consider me as being an asset to your team.
Thank you.
