Personal Statement

Hello Coaches, My name is Evan Smith, I am a rising senior at Bluefield high school. I have a 4.0 grade point average while taking an honors curriculum, including several AP courses. I am currently undecided on what I will study in college.I have played golf virtually all my life, because of my love of golf, I have focused my attention on becoming a collegiate golfer. My high school scoring average was 37.5 for 9 holes as a sophomore and 33.5 my junior year. This high school season included scores of 30, 33, 32, and 70. In several mens and junior tournaments I posted scores of ;67, 70, 71, and 72. I have wins on the Plantations Junior Golf Tour, the NJGT, BRJGT and the TopFlite junior Tour. This summer I have qualified for the Virginia Amateur (145) and the Virginia Jr stroke play, I was also a quarter finalist in the Virginia Jr Match Play. (146) I also monday qualified for the AJGA event in Ashland Ky.( 73 ) My strengths include putting, chipping, and I am currently working hard on improving the mental aspect of my game.
