I grew up playing sports in a small town. I started playing baseball when I was 4, and became a Pitcher and a first baseman, but then I found the game of hockey when I turned 11. My first year I played as Goalie because my Grandfather was a goalie from Regina Canada who played for Michigan State. When I was 12 I skated out as a defenseman and my passion for the game exploded. Growing up, I learned quickly to work harder than my teammates on and off the ice to fuel my love of the game. Consequently, I have grown into a consistent hard worker in all that I do and I'm grateful for having pushed myself at an early age. It taught me to not be afraid to go the extra mile to improve my teams chances of success, and my own as well. In my opinion this makes me a valuable asset to any team and coach, to any school, that chooses to invest in me. I will always put forth a hard-nosed, focused intensity toward making my team and myself the best that we can be. My education is important to me, so a college that can challenge me academically as well as athletically is something that I'm looking for. Since Elementary school I have always been an A/B student, and in High school I have taken several honors classes and succeeded in them. I learn quickly, on and off the ice. My summer jobs have helped mold me as well. In the summer I have commercial fished, set-netting in Cook Inlet off the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska. In my second season I was promoted to Boat Captain. On the frigid Alaskan waters you have to learn fast, think fast on your feet, and be decisive in your decisions. I have also worked with a roofing company as a laborer, at our local golf course, and with our local rink in the summer evenings running kid skate events. In my off time you can find me at the gym or the rink training for hockey.
I believe that my future is bright, and that I can be a part of something great. I want to play hockey as long as I can, at the highest level I can, and I know this path will mold me even more toward reaching great heights in my life. Thank you for your time and consideration in viewing my profile.
