Josef Bauer '24 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to earn a college education while playing my favorite sport, ice hockey. I have been balancing honor classes and a rigorous travel hockey schedule for 5 years.  I have always placed school before sport. I haven't always been on the team with the best record, but I am loyal and I have always worked hard. I lifted a State Championship with Mission AZ and it was the best feeling ever. 

I am....

*An achieved student in the classroom.  I applied for and was accepted to the honors program in 8th grade. I plan to continue honors courses in high school and apply for the Diploma program in my Junior year. Earning college credit while in high school is a win-win. Math and History are my favorite subjects.

*Committed to the jersey I represent.  I arrive at every practice ready to give 100% and game days bring out the best in me.  I am coachable and can easily adapt to changing systems and line mates.  

*I have been commended for my ice awareness and I believe that hockey is as much about physical talent as well as "hockey IQ".  I have never been the biggest guy on the ice,  but I have never let that stand in my way.

*I am not the guy that follows a crowd. I believe in doing the right thing all of the time. I follow rules and avoid drama.  I do like loud music in the locker room and I believe that every opponent can be beat. I do believe that a can do team attitude will allow you to improve your game. You can improve without winning every game and I have experienced this over my particpation in competitve hockey. 

This year (2019-2020) I was selected by my teammates to be the Assisstant Captian.
