Jacob Lester '18 Recruiting Profile

 Playing hockey is my passion. I have relocated across the country to play high level hockey and achieve my academic goals with the support of a New England Prep School, the New Hampton School in New Hampshire. I will play hockey for my school team The New Hampton Huskies. I am also very fortunate to play  for the NH Avalanche u16 AAA prep team during the fall. I am very excited for this great opportunity. Being both a Canadian and American citizen I will now have the experience of winter, living in Arizona I have been spoiled with the great weather.

The last few years I played varsity hockey for my high school Notre Dame Prep and club with the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes AAA. Prior to that I was a multi sport athlete, in hockey, basketball, soccer, martial arts and track. 

 I was playing primarily competitive soccer in 2008 when I travelled to Canada to visit family. My Grandfather like most Canadian men is a hockey fanatic, we went to a Whitby Wildcat game and my love for the game was born,  from that day my love for the game, my drive and desire to play has remained unchanged.  

 I have been blessed over the years with wonderful teammates and great coaches. During my time playing I had both great thrills, and disappointments, yet I was able to accept both, and become better for it. I love nothing more then playing, training and working to become better at hockey, but I also realize that the game has given me much more and has helped me to grow as a person.

  I aim to stay in control of my life as I work hard every day, on and off the ice, and in the classroom to be the best I can possibly be.  I want to continue to play hockey and know that I will give everything I do 100% effort, have fun, support my teammates and represent our team with all I have.
