I have been playing hockey since I was seven years old. I started playing hockey in Bucharest Romania then I moved to California so that I continue my career of playing ice hockey at a competitive level, ever since then I have been inspired and motivated by so many people in my life including Hockey Olympians to play hockey. I love playing at a competitive level of hockey, my biggest struggle moving from Bucharest Romania to California was that I was unable to body check people here. In Romania we were able to body check during games but when I moved to California they restricted the ability to body check here which was a bit of a struggle for me because I like being physical during games. I have played at AA levels, AAA levels, and now I am playing at a Varsity level hockey. Now I want to play at the collegiate level, and I know if I am put to the test of playing at a collegiate level of hockey I promise you that I will not disappoint you. I understand that it is very competitive and hard to play at college level hockey but I know I am ready to play at that level if I am guided towards the right direction.
I am usually described as a leader on the team who will lead his teammates to the right direction by encouraging them and helping them out. I like to learn new things about hockey so I pay as much attention as I can during practice, that is why I am also known as the hardest level working player on the team even when it comes to the smallest things in a hockey practice I take it very seriously. I believe that not only am I one of the hardest working players on my team but I believe that I am one of the hardest working recruits that you will ever find on any team.
Outside of hockey, In the classroom, I am also serious about my grades. I keep my GPA at a high standard not only that, I am really involved around the community at my school. I am part of 3 clubs: PSAT Club, Engineering Club, and LIFE Team Club. Not only am I a high school student I am also considered as a college student. I take college classes at Norco Community College for a specific reason. My main reason why I take college classes at Norco Community College is because they are free for me and I also take college classes because by the time I graduate high school I will graduate with my Architecture and Engineering Certificates. I have also volunteered over 100 hours for community service.
I really want to attend at a university/college where I can be able to push myself academically in the classroom and physically on the ice. I am open to all opportunities and all possibilities that will ultimately help me find the right college match for me even at the highest level of competition there is possible. I strive to make my parents proud of what I am doing and I really hope that I can play at college level hockey.
Sincerely, Anthony Hagiu
