I first started skating when I was four years old. I started playing hockey when I was six and continued to love the game more and more every time I stepped on the ice. Hockey has been my passion ever since I can remember. I will continue to pursue my dream of playing hockey while earning a degree in college. Hockey means the world to me and I will do whatever it takes to take my game to the next level.
I have struggled a little in the classroom during my freshman and sophomore year, but I have completely changed my study habits and I am taking school more serious than ever. My grades are on an upward trend and I improved my overall GPA with all A's and B's in my junior year. I volunteered at my local rink by teaching children from the ages of 6 to 10 the basics of hockey. I had so much fun working with these kids and it eventually turned into a paying job. I usually try to work on the weekends, or whenever I have time outside of my studies.
On the ice I would classify myself as a play maker. I am very smart with the puck on the ice and never rush a play or panic, I am able to slow down the pace to make plays and take control of the tempo during a game. My communication skills are also key, I am always talking to let my teammates know where I am or what I am going to do. I have always communicated well with coaches in the past and had a strong relationship with them and the players on every team. I will do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals on and off the ice, I strive to achieve greatness and nothing less.
I look forward to working hard to achieve my goals in hockey and in school. I am respected as a leader with my coaches, friends, and fellow teammates. My number one goal now is to enter into a college that supports my career interests for the future.
