Garrett Van Wyhe '15 Recruiting Profile

My goal(s) since I started playing hockey have been to play varsity ice hockey in college and to earn a college degree in Athletic Training/Sports Management. My freshman year in high school, I made the decision to leave my home and my position on my AAA Bantam hockey program in Seattle and travel to Colorado and attend Fountain Valley School in Colorado Springs to better prepare myself for my journey. As a boarding student, in a very challenging college prep school, I am learning the skill sets, both on and off the ice, and in the classroom to achieve any goal I set for myself. Leadership, laser focused goal setting, hard work and determination are the cornerstones I have learned at FVS. FVS hockey currently has an independent prep school schedule. We recently have played in tournaments against some of the best prep school hockey programs in America. As a “200 foot” center, I enjoy keeping the puck out of our net almost as much as I enjoy scoring. Hard work, playmaker, and grinder are three words that would describe my hockey play.
