Personal Statement
My name is Jared Resseguie, and I have a passion embedded in me to do whatever it takes to succeed not only in hockey, but in the classroom and in life as well. Ever since I started ice hockey in squirts, I have been a captain of every one of my teams including AA and AAA organizations. My ability to come into work and get better everyday on and off the ice is what pushes me as such a strong leader. I'm a skilled forward with a high hockey IQ and great ability to see the ice which is where my playmaking ability comes from. Although I love to be in the offensive zone making plays, I pride myself greatly in the defensive zone as a shut down defensive forward. Whether it's blocking a shot, making/taking a hit, or grinding in the corners, I will do whatever it takes to come out on top in the end. The attributes that best describe me as an overall player is my coachability, work ethic, leadership, play making ability, and courage.
As well as pride for the kind of game I play, I also take great honor in being a good brother/son, friend, teammate, and especially a student and role model. As a student I take academics very seriously as they are what pours the foundation to a successful future. I have been in National Junior Honor Society, invited multiple times to National Honor Society, and received numerous awards such as lettering academically three years in a row. I have also maintained a GPA of 3.9 with honors and advanced classes. Lastly, being a role model is another enormous title to me as I've helped with the Colorado Ice Wizards, an ice hockey team for children and adults with developmental disabilities, and multiple Colorado sled hockey teams.
My dream and goal is to play college hockey at the Division I level and will do whatever it takes to achieve this dream.
I am currently playing for the Bismarck Bobcats in the NAHL.
