Personal Statement

I presently live in Colorado Springs and attend Cheyenne Mountain High, graduating with the class of 2017. Academics are important to me therefore, I have challenged myself by enrolling in AP classes and plan to continue in that direction to improve academically for my future.I am looking for a college with a good environment to grow academically and socially. At this time I have not decided on a major, although I have a strong interest in economics as well as world cultures.I am a strong creative hockey player with exceptional on ice vision. I excel in the corners and look for that back door pass. I consider myself a play-maker who is not afraid to shoot when given the chance. I play aggressively and like to be physical to win the corner battles. My coaches have described me as a mature play-maker who knows how to win.I have been extremely dedicated to my hockey career over the years and very encouraged and excited to move on to that next level. Over the last four years, I have traveled over an hour each way, five to six days a week to play with the top rated state club level team, The Littleton Hawks. Due to this schedule, I have become very disciplined with my studies, logging many late nights as well as studying while commuting. It has been well worth it to play for respected coaches and players at my level. I am very outgoing with a humbling personality and a love of meeting new people and exploring new opportunities. I enjoy volunteering and giving back to my hockey organization by assisting with the younger youth hockey teams, Children hospital, Breast cancer and Down Syndrome walks. I am a licensed referee and find it rewarding to be able to help mold the up and coming hockey players, as well as make a little money to help support myself. I have a strong faith and look forward to maturing myself in that direction as I get older. Currently I play tier 3 Junior A for the Pikes Peak Miners in the RMJHL. Thank you for your interest and viewing my profile to learn a little more about me.
