I am a CANADIAN CITIZEN with a Permanent Resident Card who always works hard on the ice, in the gym and in the classroom to consistently improve myself in becoming a better hockey player and well-rounded individual. To continue with my knowledge, whether on the ice or in a classroom, I listen carefully to feedback from my coaches, teachers, teammates, and parents. I consistently strive toget better as a person, a player, and a student. My good sense of humor, genuine personality, and work ethic are reasons why my teammates and I get along so well.
Hockey has been a part of my life since I was 3 years old. Until 3 years ago I didn’t believe that it could take me to a college level. When I started playing higher level hockey I became serious about my possibilities of playing college hockey. I have committed myself to better my education to allow for this possibility. I have worked very hard on and off the ice to make myself not only a better player, but also a better student. My role on most teams is to be a two way forward, I like to battle along the boards and make plays that produce scoring opportunities. I have a deceiving shot and continue to work on shooting so I can score goals when the opportunity comes. My first look is to make a higher percentage chance even if shooting the puck is that chance. I believe I am a power forward with a strong fore-check and am very capable of taking the body.
Playing college hockey has always been a dream of mine. Ever since I was a little boy I have always wanted to play high level hockey while earning a higher education. Over time, I have developed many skills to better my chances of fulfilling this dream and continue to develop them. Some of these skills include stick handling, skating, hitting, and visualizing the ice as well as learning to lead a group of people, being more outgoing, and positive while in negative situations. These skills, however, are not only in my play, but also my overall personality and development of a young adult. While playing professional hockey is my main dream, college hockey can ensure that I am well-rounded with the knowledge I require for having a successful career. I also have many other hobbies such as flying, horseback riding, water skiing, and just being outdoors has continued to help me flourish into a successful young man. College would help me develop further throughout my years of being a student.
I have always thought of myself as a very outgoing person, and always wanting to meet new people. I get along with others very well and can fit in to almost any environment that betters my situation. I do my best to make the most of every opportunity that is given to me. I feel like college hockey is my best option in bettering my talent as a hockey player but also as a person. College would allow me to explore new options for future careers and give me the tools I will need to succeed as a young man. I like to explore all possible hobbies and career options that fit me the best so that I may live a happy and yet successful life.
I have many other options I would like to explore while attending college, such as, Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, and Business Management. This would allow me to open up many options for job opportunities as my life progresses. I would also be willing to explore other similar classes so that I can explore as many options as possible. I have had a dream of becoming a pilot since I was around age 7, I have always loved to fly and would love to have a career in flight. I am currently working on a pilot’s license but I would like to explore different types of flight as well. I would like to one day own my own flight charter and I feel like having a degree in Business and Engineering would make that dream possible. But of course, the ultimate dream is playing professional hockey.
By the time I come out of college I would like to have an education to use for when my career as a hockey player ends. My ultimate dream is to play hockey as high or as far as possible and develop an education that will better my life overall. I feel like this is the best path to take and it will help me make the most of this opportunity that was given to me.
