Personal Statement
I have been playing hockey since I was 4 years old. I was raised around hockey and hockey has become part of who I am. I have always wanted to play at the competitive college level, for the challenges and opportunities that are offered on and off the ice. Not only has my goal been to play at this high level, but I feel like I would make a big impact for whatever school I decide would be best for me. I bring a hard work ethic and a lead by example mentality. I have been lucky to play on many teams, in many states, with some great coaches and trainers. All of these teams, coaches and trainers have made an impact and given me many perspectives on the sport and my level of play. What makes me different from other recruits is I have something that can't be taught. I have size and a presence on the ice and I do everything with high intensity and authority. I have also dedicated my life to developing my skills as a hockey player. I spent my Freshman year of high school living with a billet family, out of my home state, so I could go to Global Performance Academy (GPA). With GPA, I worked on hockey development, leadership skills and team building skills, on and off the ice, five days a week and did my schooling online, to offer more time for hockey development. Off the ice, I am also an extremely hard worker in the classroom and enjoy learning. My most important values are great work ethic, leadership, coachability, and enjoying and making the most out of every moment.
