My goal as a hockey player is to have the opportunity to represent my college in the rink. This means that I want to be able to help the team out and support them from the goal whether it is on or off the ice. Furthermore, I want to play the best level of collegiate hockey where I can actually play and be in an atmosphere which will help me to continue to grow as a goalie and as a person. Throughout my hockey career I have continually improved. I went from being the third goalie on my public school team to being the main goalie on my prep school league team.As a 16 year old I was selected for Team Connecticut. Over the last two years I have improved by leaps and bounds. Over the years when I grew to 6 ft 4 in I had to adapt to my size and develop coordination to my new body. To be able to improve I have spent countless hours with my goalie coach Jarred Waimon of the Connecticut Pro Crease, a private goalie school. Also on the off season last year I played at least 30 games with the CT Oilers in an effort to become more comfortable in games. My defensemen and my coach would describe me as hard working and as somebody who takes ownership for my mistakes. Especially this year the Captain and I developed a strong relationship. The captain and I are a strong unit facing two on ones and I can always trust him to clear people out from the front of the crease. The Founders League is known as an extraordinary difficult league where my team is often overwhelmed. It is not unusual for me to face 50 shots or more in these games. The defense and I are able to hang in these games because of our mutual support for each other.
My hard work ethic is also shown in the classroom. During my whole high school career I have continued to go into challenging classes. One of the challenges I overcame was going from public high school to prep school academic demands. Throughout my high school career not only have I stayed on the honor role but my GPA has improved.
