Personal Statement
At the age of 8, I fell in love with the sport of hockey. I remember waking up at 4:30 AM for tournament games on the weekend and racing back to my home town to play another house league game at 11. My favorite player as a child was and still is Zdeno Chara. He exudes leadership on the ice and dominate defensive play for his team.
At the age of 17 I am still waking up at 4:30 AM for my love and passion, hockey. Woodstock Academy Hockey program runs practice from 5:30-6:45 every morning before school. I strive to be the first player on the ice and always the last player off. While most teammates would usally arrive on the icea at 5:25, I took the ice at 5:05 every morning working on my shot or stick handeling skills. After being up for 10 hours and my classes are completed I focus strictly on school work and projects to maintain my 3.62 GPA.
I am a very hard working on the ice and in the class room. I am dedicated to my studies and have always been regarding by my teachers as a hard-working student and one who displays helpful leadership qualities in the class room. This year I have been selected by my school's athletic director to take place in an All-Conference Leadership Conference along with speaking to middle-school aged children about sports and academics.
I am a highly determined player that takes pride in my work ethic and will train as hard as I can to gain an edge over my opponents. I take my game seriously from warm-ups to post-game nutrition. I always want to be the hardest worker to fulfill my potential as a hockey player. I am a dependable and gritty player that will get the job done in any given situation. My determination to succeed at the next level and my work ethic will make me a deserving candidate for you team! Thank you!
