Personal Statement
I believe that you need to be the change you wish to see in the world and I live my life exactly that way. This makes my goals and aspirations for myself in arms reach. I believe that by living and thinking this way it makes me a good candidate for any team. Some examples of that is my positive attitude and believing in team building within the sport and community. The things that sets me different from other recruits in character, as an athlete and academically is my past family history. I was raised by a single mother who worked extremely hard to give me the best private education because she believes education is the key to any youths success. By watching my mother work and sacrifice so much for me in return made me want to work just as hard and become the best student possible for her and myself. When I was ten my grandmother committed suicide. This taught me the importance of family, my team and my community because they completely supported me through the lowest point in my life. This hardship taught me what I needed in life to bond with all my hockey coaches and teammates. I was able to show them all that on or off the ice they can depend on me. This quailty also makes for an overall great athlete because play after play I'm there and will not let my team down. As for my personal character I believe god only gives you what you can handle and all life hardships are something to learn from and what I have gone through at this point in my life has made me a hardworking, loving, loyal, team player that will achieve every goal that is in my path to greatness.
