Personal Statement
Every ice-hockey player has their own goals and aspirations like getting to the NHL. Many also see nothing other than the NHL in their future and don't create smaller goals to help them progress along the way. I myself believe that the practice of setting numerous smaller goals can help lead any athlete to success. My belief is that by setting goals that are time limited, reasonable, yet challenging can aid myself or any other player in their quest for the NHL or other endeavors. For example, my goal for this season is to be the top scorer on my hockey team. This goal is reasonable, time limited, and also challenging as some of my team mates are also battling for the top spot. Furthermore, other goals that may be longer term are collegiate goals. Though a goal such as getting into college is key for any student whether athlete or not, my intent on going to college coupled with multiple short term goals sets many milestones to be achieved and a plethora of self gratification to be earned. Coupled with goal setting is the responsibility to oneself and the perseverance to follow through and attain the goals you set for yourself. One with such qualities and objective setting attributes is none other than myself. Throughout my lifetime, I have continued to work hard and keep going no matter what, even when I'm completing self assignments at home and school, or working as the captain on my team, pumping my brothers up and striving to win a game. I stay honest and true to my word, or if my promises may not be possible, I do my finest and complete my objective to the furthermost point; and if in the end it isn't completed, take responsibility for my actions. The aforesaid qualities, are what makes me, me, and I am consistently working to improve myself and the others around me. The desire to always seek to improve one-self is a quality that not many have, others will be satisfied with themselves and nothing more, but I am always striving for the next level, and am keen on becoming a first rate ice-hockey player. Conjoining all mentioned characteristics into one person, makes me who I am. Add on that I have over a 4.0 GPA and love everything about the game of Hockey and you've got yourself your next team candidate.
