Personal Statement

My near term goal is to play for a high tier junior team. I am also devoted to my longer term goal of playing college hockey for a strong Varsity College Hockey Program. Following college, I plan to play professional hockey to the highest level that I can achieve. To accomplish these goals, I am working extremely hard in school and getting good grades while taking mostly Honors and AP classes. Because I have a passion for science, I plan to study Chemistry and/or Molecular Biology in college. I have an extensive practice and workout schedule. I play hockey 4-6 days/week, lift weights 2-3 days/week, and run 3-5 miles 1-2 days/week. I also do foot agility exercises, stick handling, and shooting off ice each week.

My primary position is Right Defenseman, but I also play Center and Right Wing at times. Because I have excellent speed (fastest player on all of the teams I have played for) and play these secondary positions, I naturally provide significant offense while playing as a Defenseman.

I enjoy many activities outside of hockey including Taekwondo (ITA World Sparring Champion (gold medal) and bronze medalist in Forms), baseball, running (cross country), fishing, hunting, and community service. I am a natural leader on and off the ice and have served as a captain of hockey and baseball teams and as president of my church youth group. In my youth group, I have the opportunity to provide service to the community by working at soup kitchens, shelters, and providing service (yard work, house cleaning, moving) to individual people at their homes.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
