Personal Statement
My name is Dominic Hollister, and I am looking to continue my athletic and academic achievement as I transition into college. Junior hockey has not only allowed me to sharpen my skills as a hockey player, but has also helped me grow as an individual. I had the opportunity to seek mentorship and accept the responsibility of being assistant captain to retain the culture set by those before me. While others may hesitate to stand in front of the net, block a shot, or battle in the corner, I embody this role and relish these opportunities every time I touch the ice. Challenging myself to be a better teammate, student, and friend as I set high expectations for myself, and gain pride in developing my skills to achieve my goals. Surrounding myself with high performing individuals continually forces me to raise my level of play, and compete at a higher level than the day before. I look to test myself daily to never become complacent with my ability and become a lifelong learner on and off the ice.
