Personal Statement
I love playing hockey and would like to be at the highest level possible for as long as possible. My hockey resume includes AAA hockey for the past 6 years and prep school for the past 3. I am a senior at Tabor Academy and excited that the season has started. Tabor hockey has been a growth experience and I loved every aspect of the skill and speed of the game. Moving to prep school has been exciting and rewarding, on and off the ice.
On the ice, I believe I can fit in and play with almost anyone. I try to simplify my game and not make things more complicated than they need to be. I try to make simple, effective plays and move the puck quickly. I handle the puck well and use my stick to my advantage. I use positioning to take passing lanes away, but I'm not afraid to throw my body around. In the offensive zone, I make sure to make the other teams players' jobs as tough as possible. I try to never get my shots blocked and to have my head up when I have the puck. I like to be a leader and push my teammates. I'm a very coach-able player and very open-minded. I ask coaches for feedback and work to always improve.
Off the ice, I'm a very well rounded kid. I'm a very outgoing and can talk to and get along with anyone. I am a head tour guide at Tabor and spend a lot of time giving tours. It allows me to give back to the school and have an impact on students deciding to choose Tabor. I have also done some acting and taken some art classes at Tabor. I work hard in school because I know hockey isn't forever and I enjoy challenging myself in everything I do.
My father works at a university which will be providing some tuition money toward my college education, so that might save some scholarship money for my future hockey program.
