Personal Statement
My hockey journey started in Portland Oregon and has led me across the country and now to Canada. I have worked hard each season to progress through the levels and I took every chance I could get to work off ice with a trainer, extra ice with a goalie coach, as well as tune up camps on and off season to help me stand out to coaches. My background in martial arts introduced me to the values of teamwork, perseverance, and integrity which I was able to translate into my hockey as well as my academics and life.
Working with the sled hockey team as a student coach gave me a new perspective and outlook on challenges. I deeply respect all those athletes and their effort they brought every time they were on the ice. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to have worked with them and I hope to again in the future.
I feel that having had experienced a lot of different hockey, academic, and living environments, I have developed the ability to adapt and use each opportunity to grow as a person as well as a student athlete. After struggling in school during my freshman year, I have worked hard to improve my GPA each year and I am committed to continuing to put in the work on the ice and in the classroom in order to extend my hockey career into juniors and college.
