Personal Statement

My name is Joshua Loveridge and I am a senior defenseman and captain at St. Mark's School, which is one of the prep schools in New England's Independent School League. Last year I was given a regular shift on defense and the penalty kill along with being part of the second power play unit. I was able to finish the year with 16 points while the team also won the NEPSAC Small School Championship for the second year in a row.

Being in a prestigious school currently, furthering my education in a challenging environment that excels at hockey is my dream. I have been working my whole life to become a college hockey player. It not only has been a large piece of my life, but over the years, hockey has opened up so many opportunities for me that would not have been available otherwise. Although being a hockey player in college is a large influence on my college process, setting myself up for the best opportunities post college is also a big part of my college decision. I want to go to a school that will push me on the ice and in the classroom.

I am excited to be a part of the college recruiting process, and I can't wait to see where it takes me.

When he finishes his stride, he doesn't bring his feet all the way back underneath his body before the next push; so his stride length is a little short. Working on his length would significantly improve his overall speed. STICK SKILL Solid stickhandler and catches passes very well. SHOT Josh has strong shot. His release and accuracy were solid. Really good power on his shot. He did a good job creating opportunities to receive the puck and get shots off by trailing the rush and walking the blue line. MISCELLANEOUS The real strength of Josh's game is his defending ability and his compete level. Solid on his gaps through the neutral zone. very aggressive in Defensive zone; did a great job taking away time and space. Very good at keeping stick on puck in Defensive zone.
