Personal Statement
I am very eager to see what my future holds, my passion has always been playing hockey all the while knowing that getting a good education was also important. While playing hockey, I have always done my best to keep myself in good academic standing. Throughout my four years in high school, I have kept an unweighted GPA of 3.65. I have done this while taking as many possible AP classes that I could take. Besides just taking AP classes, I also duel enrolled at a local college where I started to take a couple college classes. I plan on studying in the medical field, with aspirations to become a surgeon once I have finished school. When it comes to playing hockey, one of my best qualities is my work ethic. I always give hockey everything that I have, I never cheat myself on any opportunity that I am given. One of my main focus during hockey is to always improve on the skills which I know are not my best. I know that the only way for me to become the best possible hockey player is to improve on the things that I struggle with even if those skills might not be the most fun to practice. The last three teams that I have played for, I was named an assistant captain. I truly enjoyed being a leader on those teams that I played for, most of the time I would lead based on my actions. I always gave it everything that I had and was always respectful on and off the ice. By doing this my teammates often followed my example. I have always have known that I would be attending college but it would be my dream if I could represent my school by playing on their hockey team, while obtaining my education.
