Personal Statement
As a student athlete, I try to balance them equally. For school, I have very high expectations for myself. I always try my hardest at everything I do and I never quit. That goes for hockey as well. I give it 110% at all times and try to stay humble about it. I think being a scholar athlete has played a huge factor on who I am today. My collegiate goals are to play a sport, hockey obviously. And not only play a sport but do something in the medical field, like sports medicine. My character is very special to me. It's what I go by. I go by 3 things. Always work your hardest no matter what, stay humble, let your success do the talking, and respect others. Treat people how you want to be treated. For hockey, I am defensive defenseman. I just keep things simple and smart. I don't worry about getting points as much, but just doing my job and that is to make good passes, get the puck to the net, make good and smart decisions, just be an overall defensive defenseman. I try to do it with much poise as well. I pull my weight on the team and that is to be a defenseman, not a goal scorer.
