Personal Statement
My name is Eric Fisher, I am 17 years old, My date of birth is 01/08/2000 and I will be graduating on May, 2018.
My ambition is to attend a university and play hockey at a high level and I plan to study Pre-Med for my future career.
As a hockey player, I'm more a stay-at-home defenseman (L/R), which makes the defensive zone my top priority. I focus on my defensive duties before offensive ones. My main job is to break up offensive attacks and prevent scoring plays. Often playing in penalty kill situations, I will join in on the attack only when I'm sure there are no offensive threats present from our opponents. I rarely rush with the puck as prefer to pass it out of my own zone as quickly as possible. I like to play physical and am adept at body checking, stick checking, and clearing opposing players from the front of my net. I ease pressure on the goaltender in defensive situations; neutralize the opposing team's offensive players by landing strong hits and blocking shots. I Always back my partner — on the offensive blue line, in the neutral zone and especially in the defensive zone. Strong on my feet, quick into the corners, staggered. Even though I prefer to play the stay-at-home defenseman, I have strong puck handling skills and can surprise the other team at moment’s notice and shoot intelligently from the point.
I think I will be a great fit for this position on your team.
Attending a university will allow me to achieve both my goals which are to get an exceptional education and play hockey at an elite level.
I personally really like this statement from Vladimir Konstantinov:
"I don’t need to score goals; I need someone to start thinking about me and forget about scoring goals."
