Brian Schindler '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing hockey for twelve years. For as long as I can remember the game of hockey has been a passion of mine. Whether it was going to Rangers games or playing on the pond, I could never get tired of the game. The collegiate level offers the ability to grow not only as a hockey player but as a person as well. Being able to play college hockey has been one of my ultimate goals, and I hope to fulfill it.

I have held captain/assistant captain spots in multiple sports, knowing what it takes to be a leader. On the ice I take pride in my ability to pass with precision and shoot for the corners. My hockey sense allows me to separate myself from others. I feel that my playmaking ability combined with knowledge of the ice makes for a lethal combination. Furthermore I am very coachable, and I am sure that my former coaches can attest to that. When I am on the practice ice my number one intention is to improve my skills, and even though I am considered to be a little undersized, my determination makes up for any doubt that I can play against bigger players.

In school I maintain a high GPA while also taking honors-level courses. I am proud of getting good grades. In the classroom, I try to be attentive and provide thoughtful insight to make the most of my education.

College is a place where I am looking to grow in the classroom as a student and on the ice as a hockey player. Playing college hockey is a tremendous opportunity that can become a reality. I am seeking to play competitive hockey for a respected institution, and wish to continue playing for as long as I can.
