Personal Statement
In college, I want to be that player that scores the winning goal in the championship game. I want to be that player that wins it for the team or makes something good happen every shift. If I make it to play at the collegiate level, it would be one of my dreams come true. I would be a good candidate for any team because I bring everything to the table. I can be a vocal leader on and off the ice. If I have to be a role model to someone, I will do it to the best of my ability. I can step into any role on the team and be a team player. If one day I need to be a grinder, I can be a grinder, if another day I need to be a play maker, I can be a play maker. I am different from any other athlete because I can do what needs to be done for the team to be successful. My greatest asset on the ice is my speed. It enables me to play in any position where I am needed to produce or prevent points. I am also very good at reading the plays of my opponents, so I am ready for them. In short, when I play, I play hard and fast right up until the last buzzer.
Although playing collegiate hockey is a dream of mine, my education is a top priority for me as well. My college education will protect my future with or without hockey. I am a very disciplined person. I never miss a practice; I keep up on my school work to the best of my ability, and work out in my home gym at the Cross-fit gym in my spare time. It is my hope that one day I will have the opportunity to prove my ability on the collegiate level, both academically and athletically to fulfill my dream and secure my future.
