Spyridon "Spyro" Markoulis '18 Recruiting Profile

My name is Spyrdon Markoulis and I have aspirations of playing hockey at the collegiate level. I have been playing hockey ever since I was 6 years old and everyday I strive to get better.  Ever since I started playing at the age of 6, I quickly realized how passionate I was about hockey and I have dreams about playing at the highest level possible .

I feel that I am a great candidate for colleges because I have a great work ethic,  understand the value of commitment and I am extremely competitive. For example, my weekly scheduled consists of attending Glen Cove High School from 7:30 a.m to 2:00 p.m., I go home immediately to complete my homework and then travel to practice from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.  Although I have a very busy schedule, I currently have a 3.3 grade point average. Hockey plays a key factor in why I am disciplined and thrive to do well academically. 

There are several qualities that separate me from other recruits.  One of these qualities is that I have competed in hockey at a extremely  high level. In fact, just recently my varsity hockey team participated n the New York State High School Championships in Jamestown, NY. Another quality is that I am leader both on and off the ice. As a goalie, I am responsible for making sure that the defense is active and aware during the  other teams offensive possessions.
