Personal Statement
Ever since I was young, I wanted to play college hockey.
So much so, I was the first person in my family to ever play competitively. Since I never had the resources to play at a high level growing up, my development was solely based off of drive and work ethic to do what I could to become better. I have never been a points player, but I take pride in being an influential player on and off the ice. I went through many unique situations growing up that caused me to mature much earlier than my peers and learn many large life lessons early while learning to be on my own. Going through so much has only fueled the fire more for me to chase after my goals and do whatever it takes for me to have a successful hockey career. On the ice, I'm a grinder. I drive into the corners, take the body, shoot when I can, back check hard, and block lots of shots. I pride myself in my defensive play and the ability to play fearlessly on the ice. I grew up a defenseman but was moved to forward 2 seasons ago. I talk a lot on the bench. In the locker room, I always make sure to talk to my teammates, figure out issues, and do my best to keep morale up.
Off the ice, I put in countless extra hours in the weight room and doing things in the community like coaching learn to play programs. To me, it's about bringing that fire and emotion into your training every single day. I've been credited by all of my previous coaches as a very desired, hardworking individual that is extremely coachable, very personable, listens well, and is a great example for other players. What I lack in skill is always made up for in hard work, hustle, and effort.
That same effort is also shown in the classroom. I graduated high school with a 3.925 GPA, ranked 118 in my class, and continuously was held on Distinguished Honor Roll and the Scholar Athlete List. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I believe I could be a great addition to your program and I look forward to connecting with you.
