Personal Statement
~~Hello, my name is Kyle Fiore and I am from Pottsgrove, PA. I am going to be a Senior in the 2015/2016 school year and I play for the Valley Forge Minutemen 18u AAA Team. Hockey has been a huge part of my life and I want to keep playing the highest level that I possibly can. I am a very competitive athlete and work very hard. I will do whatever my coach asks me to do and I will do it to my highest ability. I have played right wing my whole hockey career, but last year my coach asked me to play center. It didn’t take long to adjust to a different position but I had to practice at different skills and use my skills differently.
I want to attend a great academic school that will give me the opportunity to keep playing hockey for at least the next four years. One of my best aspects to hockey and school is my commitment to what I do. I have played for the Jr. Flyers for the past seven years. I never won a championship in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) until my sixth season. I never gave up on myself or my team until we got the job done. I will help my team again this year to win another championship by being a leader and working hard at practice and at games.
I consider myself a playmaker but I also can put the puck in the net. I might not be the biggest of players, but I still can use my speed and strength to produce goals. I do a lot of the little things that can help my team win games such as blocking shots, setting people up for goals and just being a team player. I was on one of the best penalty kill units in the league last year when we killed off over 85% of our penalties. To do this, all of the penalty killers had to work twice as hard on the ice and we had to put everything on the line..
With my hard work and dedication to my team and my school work, I would like to attend a college that will give me the chance to show and improve my skills on and off the ice.
