Reliable, studious, and amicable. These are three qualities I consider to be important as both an athlete and a student. I've worked hard to attain these attributes both on and off of the ice over the last ten years. I've learned from my coaches, teachers, and family that these traits have helped me to become a well-rounded person in all aspects of my life.
I began playing ice hockey after asking to take skating lessons at the age of five. After watching older kids play and learning about the game, I knew that I wanted to become a player, too. For the past three seasons, I've been playing for the Pittsburgh Predators' 2008 AAA team. As a defenseman, I prioritize getting pucks to the net as well as ensuring that I prevent any goals against. I do this by making great passes, playing with physicality, and having a strong net-front presence. As one of the leaders on my team, I am sure to encourage my teammates and set a good example.
I aspire to continue to play hockey at the highest level possible going forward in my career. My goal is to improve on the ice, in the gym, and in the classroom each day. I am currently a sophomore in high school in Bethel Park, PA. I finished my freshman year with a 3.9290 cumulative weighted GPA. I take honors classes and although I am unsure of my future college major, I plan to maintain my grades throughout the rest of my high school years.
A lesson that I'm currently learning is the importance of patience. Unfortunately, I broke my collarbone during the first game of the 2023-2024 season. Although I haven't played in games since my injury, I've attended each practice and continue to interact with my team and coaches as I heal. I've also taken this opportunity to help coach younger players at my home rink. I know that once I'm cleared to play I'll be ready to make a positive impact for the rest of my season.
