Personal Statement
As a player, I love to move my feet. I enjoy putting pressure on opposing players when I’m with or without the puck. I have a proven capability to be disruptive on the forecheck and when I gain possession of the puck, I have good hands and am hard to separate from it. I can score and according to Neutral Zone scouting reports my release "is quick and smooth, he shoots with his head up and shoots to score".
I pride myself on my abilities both offensively and defensively and love that opposing players have told me I’m hard to play against. I'm assigned to and execute well on both the penalty kill and the power play. I block shots with commitment and pride myself on being a team first player who will do whatever it takes to help my team win.
I work on my game relentlessly and spend a lot of time in the gym and with the weights to get stronger. At Kimball Union Academy I take advantage of all the extra ice after school in addition to scheduled team activities. I work on my speed, quickness, hands and shooting nearly every day.
Academically, I am a strong student who excels in Math and Science. In college I plan to major in Science or Engineering though I've started to become more interested in business my Senior year.
I like fishing, golf and playing baseball. I volunteer my time every week as a coach for my local High School Hockey developmental program in Pittsburgh when I am not away from home playing at KUA. I was also part of the “Big Helpers” program at my high school where High School students get to help preschoolers in their classrooms.
