John Thorne '19 Recruiting Profile

I've been playing hockey since I was seven years old.  I had tried numerous other sports before trying hockey.  When I stepped onto the ice that first time, I found my passion.  I would like to play college hockey while working towards a degree in computer sciences/programming.

Coaches have described me as a work horse, a player one can always count on.  I have a strong work ethic, and I understand that I must push myself to become better.  I never want to be satisfied with my hockey skills.  My strengths are my leadership skills, my hockey IQ, and my net presence.  I believe being a selfless player makes us better team players, and I try to lead by example.  Sometimes setting up plays is more important than being the one who finishes the play.

I am entering my senior year as a 16 year old.  I try hard to maintain a balance between my school work and my extra curricular activities, but I understand that school must always come first.
