Personal Statement
I currently play NCAA D3 for a first-year program at Bryn Athyn College in Pennsylvania but am looking to transfer for a number of reasons.
To give a quick description of myself as a player, I am a very defensive, physical player. I focus on my position and passing first, and then use my size to be as physical as I can. With that being said I also don’t have the worst shot or puck handling either. My last season of juniors I played as a captain in the NA3HL and put up over 30 points and always maintained my role as a physical presence on the ice.
Now I know when you look at my current season you’ll see that I played a low amount of games, and to give a quick explanation I would say that my coach just wasn’t exactly clear on what he wanted from me as a player and our communication just wasn’t at the level it needed to be. I also had an injury that kept me out for a few weeks as well.
As I said, there are a number of reasons that I am looking to transfer schools and one of those is the lack of communication and development I received from the coach at my current school. Another reason is because as a player, I really am looking to get better as well as get out and play, and that is why I am reaching out to you as a coach because I believe that if given the chance, my ability to listen and effort would allow you to make me into whatever kind of player you see as a good fit for your program.
Academically I don’t think I would be a worry. As a biology major, and while taking pre-med courses as well, I have recorded a 3.72 and 3.94 GPA with plenty more than full time credits for both of the completed terms this year.
