Personal Statement
I have been playing hockey since I was 7 Years old. When I first started playing hockey I knew that I wanted to play at the collegiate level just like my neighbors that got me started in hockey one was a D1 goalie for the Wisconsin Badgers and the other was a D3 defenseman for UW-Stout. I knew that my goal was to be like them some day and become a college hockey player. I know that college hockey is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it can change my whole life and get me on track for bigger and better things.
As a hockey player I would consider myself a playmaker. I’m not one to try and go coast to coast and make a bunch of fancy moves to put the puck in the net I like to set things up usually but if I have an opportunity to skate the puck I will. I like to lead the team and make sure they are paying attention in practice and staying focused before games. Some of my most memorable acheivements in my hockey career are in my first year of peewees we placed 2nd in state and my 2nd year of bantams I won MVP of a tournament in Lake Delton WI my first year of bantams in a summer 3 on 3 league my team was 1st in the league the entire season as we were undefeated, we also went on to win the “Stanley cup” in that league. I would consider myself extremely coachable I will listen and do whatever it may be my coaches ask of me.
In school I study hard but not as hard as I should. I am also taking a class at the tech school here in Menomonie to get a head start on my generals in college. My grades at the tech school are exceptional. In school I am a Member of the FFA. In 8th grade I made it to the state level in the Geography Bee as well.
As for my hobbies I love Hunting, Fishing, Dirt track racing, Farming and just hanging out with friends. I have been working for Prochnow farms since September of 2015 and loved every minute of it I have also been a part of the Mike Prochnow #68 Late Model race team since April of 2016. We have won numerous races and the team has placed 1st in overall points the past 8 seasons at our local track and in the 2017 race season we placed 1st in the state of Wisconsin for overall points. As you can see I’m a very big competitor when it comes to anything there isn’t much I love more than winning.
I want to attend a college that fits my needs and wants so that I can be the best student-athlete I possibly can be. I’m open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I want to become a role model to all the youth hockey players in my town and also a role model for my peers. I want to make my parents proud of me as a student-athlete.
