Personal Statement
Before starting lacrosse in eighth grade, I played football and soccer. I instantly fell in love with the freedom to create plays in lacrosse and how you need to use your head to be good at it. As a freshman I made the varsity team and earned several starting chance and getting a lot of playing time. I earned a full time starting position my sophomore year. The part I enjoyed most about lacrosse is getting assists and starting plays that lead to goals, like dodging to draw and dump and starting a quick play. I enjoy getting assists because I feel they are harder than getting a goal, as dodging and beating my defender is necessary to draw a slide and start the play. Clearing is another aspect of lacrosse that like and do well. If you can pickup a quick ground ball and beat a few middies, you have an almost a guaranteed goal in an odd man situation.
I played a lot of club ball this past fall and winter. I was invited and attended several camps and recruiting tournaments.
This past year I tried out and made our varsity soccer team as a midfielder. While we missed the playoffs by just one win, playing increased my overall fitness and speed.
I am open to play for a school that offers a great balance between sports, education and social activities.
