Personal Statement
My name is Darian Gagne and I am from Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I have just completed my sophomore year at St. John's Prepatory School, a division 1 Massachusetts high school, where I have spent my first two years of high school. I am most comfortable and passionate as a defenseman but when needed I have the ability to move up to long stick midfield. During my freshman year, I was injured in a snowboarding accident which kept me off of the field for the majority of that season only to return with a few weeks left in the season. I played the final three games before I left for California to play for my summer club team. I was invited to play for a team called Tribe 831 which is based out of Monterey, CA that summer and still currently play for this team. My sophomore year I played for the St. John's junior varsity team where I started at close defense.
I have maintained roughly a 3.3 GPA in mostly college prep and accelerated level classes with the exception of one honors level class for computer science. I am an extremely hard worker both on and off of the field with a passion to succeed in anything I do. I dedicate my time to increasing my foot speed, agility, stick skills, and knowledge of the game. I also withhold the ability to be a leader on the field because of my outgoing and confident personality on the field.
I currently moved to Carmel, CA with my father where I will be attending Carmel High School for my junior and senior year where I hope to continue playing lacrosse and being a leader. I am not restricted by area of the country for attending college and I am open to exploring all options. With an undecided major, I will consider all schools to help hopefully make a decision when the time comes. I am also very open to the idea of a post graduate year if necessary.
