2013 - My name is Gunner Aceves and I am currently the starting LSM/Defender at Jesuit High School in Sacramento, California. I have only been playing lacrosse for two short years and I instantly fell in love with the game. In that small window of time, because of my hard work and dedication, I have been able to compete at a very high level of lacrosse.

After only eight months into my lacrosse career, I was asked to try out for the Nor Cal Braves Comp/Travel team and was moved up to the Elite division. I was the third string LSM, but I quickly worked my way up to starter. As a sophomore at Jesuit, I was moved up to varsity and was the starting LSM. We had our best season in Jesuit lacrosse history and made our section playoffs. I am the current defensive captain of both my high school and club teams.

I believe my previous experience playing six years of football as outside linebacker and three year all-star gave me a great advantage. It taught me to be aggressive while still playing smart and also taught me how to condition and train to be as strong and quick as possible. I am a team player - I am not out on the field just to make myself look good, but to make the team better. 

Not only am I dedicated and hard working on the field, but I am the same way with my studies. My grades are my number one priority. I am very active in my high school whether it be clubs, intramurals, or Christian service. I will do whatever it takes to play at the next level. I would hate for my lacrosse career to end just when I feel like it’s beginning. I am looking for very competitive Division II, III, or Club teams that are in need of a strong LSM or Defender from the class of 2015.
