Personal Statement
I was born to play soccer. Well, needless to say, coming from a huge soccer family, it was a given. Due to my quickness and speed, along with my ball control skills, I was considered to be an outstanding high-competition soccer player. When a new sport of lacrosse came to my home town, I was so intrigued I had to give it a try. As soon as I put a stick in my hands, I was hooked. I was able to combine my athletic skills to play the great game of lacrosse.
I am currently in my Junior year at De La Salle High School, in Concord, California. My commute to school is a one-hour drive each way. It is well worth the time and privilege to attend this private college preparatory school that is well known for its outstanding academics and athletics. I take my studies very seriously to maintain a high GPA. I recently earned a 4.0 GPA, while enrolled in advanced/honor classes.
As a Freshman at De La Salle, I surpassed the Freshman/Sophomore team and made the Junior Varsity team as a starter. Soon after the season ended, I was invited to play in a summer league with our Varsity team, and this included traveling to tournaments on the East Coast. I was honored to be one of only three incoming Sophomores selected. Last season on Varsity was the proudest achievement of my lacrosse career. We won the Division 1, North Coast Section Championship. In addition, we took first place this past fall in the All West Box Lacrosse League.
I continue to work hard on my game, so I play on travel teams and attend many camps and clinics. I have played for Team NorCal and Golden Gate Elite, which included extensive travel from coast to coast. I have also traveled to Calgary, Canada with Cali*Lax Box, where I won MVP in 2013, and was selected for the 2014 All-Star USA Team vs Canada. The past two summers, I was presented with the Coach's Player Award at Stanford University's Elite Nike Camp in 2013, and again in 2014.
I am extremely coachable and play smart. My goal is to is to attend a college where I am able to excel in the classroom as well as on the field. I have a love for this sport and a personal goal to one day coach.
