Personal Statement
My name is Reed Grooman and I have been playing lacrosse since the 7th grade. Since the age of five I have played multiple sports such as baseball, golf, football, water polo and soccer. However, lacrosse is the sport that I have grown to love and embrace. My introduction into the sport began with an invite from a family friend who played college lacrosse at St. Mary's, MD. I started at recreational level and as my skills grew I moved on to competitive club teams. I currently play for 395 Starz Adrenaline. In order to play Adrenaline Lacrosse my family and I must make a huge commitment. We drive 50 miles for practice and 80+ miles for games. I attended Norco High School where I was a varsity starter as a Freshman and Sophomore for lacrosse and I also play water polo at varsity level, while maintaining a 3.8 GPA. In addition to my high school and club sports I train at a specialized gym after practice three days a week to improve my speed, strength, and agility. My primary position is defense; I am also capable of playing LSM. On the field I am vocal, and have a great understanding of how to play my position. My goals are to play lacrosse at the collegiate level, to obtain a great education and a degree. I look forward to being a part of a team and bonding with my new teammates.
