Personal Statement

Hi my name is Lucas Kramer I'm a sophomore at Las Lomas High school in Walnut Creek, California. My passion for a while now has and is Lacrosse,I have been playing lacrosse for 8 years now. I played for 6 years with a club team, Walnut Creek Warriors, and am currently playing for the East Bay Aces which have included summer & fall for 2014. I'm starting my 2nd year playing for Las Lomas High School, my freshman year I played JV my hopes for this season is to make the Varsity team. I enjoy playing year round between high school and the club team so I can get better practice in and know more about the game of lacrosse. One of the reasons why I started playing lacrosse is because I like how you work together as a team, it also takes a lot skill to learn to work together which makes the game more interesting. As well you have to be fast, you can not slack or walk in the game of lacrosse. It's a fast paced and aggressive sport, I love how the different positions each have their own role. I enjoy the fact that I'm not just using my body in the game but a tool that acts like a third arm that makes it more of a challenge. The sport of lacrosse is based on good sportsmanship and integrity which are goals I live by. One of my main goals right now is to play at a college level for 4 years. When I graduate college I would like to be a coach for a club and work with the younger kids so the game of lacrosse will keep growing. I am, spring 2015, going to be working with the Walnut Creek Warriors Lacrosse Club as an assistant coach, which I looking forward to being a good role model to the younger boys learning to play. Whatever college level that I'm accepted I know it will be hard because although lacrosse comes easy and is a passion of mine I deal with a learning disability, dyslexia & ADD, which makes academics hard for me. I will always try my hardest so that my disability will not stop me from doing what Ilove to play, lacrosse. Some of my other interests in life that I love doing are hunting and fishing, which are sports I enjoy with my dad, hanging out with family, mountain biking and just being in the big outdoors!
