Personal Statement

My name is Emilio Jimenez and i have been playing lacrosse since my freshman year of 2013, i put my sweat, blood, and tears on the field and leave a better player than how i was the day before. I am a coachable athlete and i am also a coachable figure to my teammates, no one will run as hard as i will, no one will want to be in my way when i am given a task to do because i will stop at nothing to execute it. Being in conditioning and contact sports i have acceptional athletisism, i love to compete and i have stepped up to be a leader in my schools lacrosse program as a captain and in the classroom.

As a growing human being i have been raised to show respect to my Elders, my peers, and to myself. I take everything seriously but also enjoy the moment. I am always doing something some may even say i do not even rest, I live by words one of my junior high coaches for basketball said to me "try to be the example and not the exception" and since then i think i have done a well job at doing so but there is always room for improvement. Not trying to sound like i have been strictly disciplined all my life, i have a sense of humor i share out with coaches and teammates because everyone needs a good life every now and then.

I love athletics in general, i have been playing football, basketball, rugby, and track since my junior high years. I am mentally and physically strong so when the going gets tough the tough gets going. My school has weight rosters for max weight lifting for 800 lbs, 1000 lbs, and 1500 lbs and i have made myself go on the 800 lb roster for lifting 895 pounds all together combining dead lifts, benching, and power cleans. I am sharp and so are my feet i have good cardio and speed so no matter what sport i play i am always a threat.

Academics i think are not my strongest field but its on an average standard and there have been points where i have excelled getting recognized for student achievement by our communities leaders of Watsonville. I have recieved the honor of being student of the month numerous of times, I like being prepaired for whatever may come the next day so i read extensively and it has given results in quizes, tests etc. In other words once i put my mind into something i do whatever it takes to get in done.

I wake up knowing there are many opportunities for me and I have developed a mentality to never accept defeat and I am a young man who will see things get done with nothing else but my very best to whatever it may be.
