Personal Statement
I am a high school varsity face-off specialist in Coronado, CA. My experience playing this position is unique because I have to seek out face-off experts for training with this specific position and find every opportunity to practice with people at the next level. In the off-season I travel weekly to practice face-offs with top players from other regions of So Cal to stay ahead of the local competition. I am self-motivated since I know that what I need to get better as player doesn't always exist in the area where I live. I have to seek out competition to advance, which has taught me patience and persistence. I also have to prove myself as a mid-fielder which has made me a well-rounded team member. I am inspired to play lacrosse in college as this sport keeps me driven as a player and as a student. I am holding strong with my academics and have proven my ability to succeed with AP coursework.
When I'm not playing lacrosse I like to surf and sometimes enter local surf competitions. I am involved with my church and do community service when things come up at our city's recreation center or when the local youth lacrosse club needs help with the younger players. I also enjoy wood-working, I play the guitar and I won a fine arts award for some of my art at school. I work part time at a local restaurant as a Host and I was recently promoted to food runner. I also find I am most productive when I am busy.
My ultimate goal is to go to a four year college after I graduate from high school, play lacrosse for a team with a strong sense of team-work while getting a degree in Construction Management I have seen what it takes to be the best - my work ethic on and off the field will get me to this goal.
