Personal Statement

I am very self-motivated to perfect my skills, dedicated to my on and off season training, and committed to my team.  I respect my coaches, follow their instructions with respect, and am very thankful I have the skills and smarts to enjoy this sport to the fullest.  I'm very proud to start with the CHS Varsity lacrosse team as a freshman.  I have a strong record of face-off wins and score many goals during 6 v 6 man up plays.  I am also proud of making the Mad Dog National Gold & MDWestElite's 25 team for the 7th year & LaxDawg's 2024 Select team for the third year. These selections  demonstrate my high work ethic, endurance, and skills.  Please check out my blog robbyspanelax.blogspot.com & instagram account Robby_Spane.  I look forward to connecting with you and hopefully seeing you on the lacrosse field at one of the many tournaments on my schedule.

Training

  • Faceoff Clinic with Stephen Kelly
  • 1 year
  • This is where I started getting specialized instruction from a master of face-offs while playing for Mad Dog San Diego and Mad Dog West Elite. He helped me improve when I began taking faceoffs. I won most face-offs the first few years playing club lacrosse and always stayed on to play midfield. Not until last year as an 8th grader did Mad Dog keep me at face-offs and so that is why I also play for LaxDawgs. They alternate facing off, play midi and attack as well.
  • Faceoff Privates with Connor Miller
  • 1 year
  • Coach Connor Miller got me started taking face-offs. He called my position FOGA - which meant Face Off Go Attack. I won face-offs, then would shoot or pass around to assist or shoot. I was playing with the Coronado Islanders at the time before I tried out for Mad Dog.
  • U.S. Box Nationals with Mad Dog West
  • 2 years
  • I played two Winter seasons with Coaches Dave and Brendan McCarthy 2019 and 2020. I scored a lot of goals since I was a small, quick stick. Box helped my field playing because I played up with older players and gained confidence on defense, but mostly by developing fluid stick skills, accurate passing, and shooting.
  • Faceoff Academy Advanced Ascend
  • 1 year
  • At the Advanced Ascend 3 day camp at the end of the summer season in August, with athletes from all over the country, I won my way to the final both tournament days. I lost in the final to a 2024 face off athlete from Virginia on day 3. I earned an invitation to the annual FOA National Showcase December 3rd at the Sportika Sports in Manalapan, New Jersey. The FOA coaches are very supportive of me and my face off abilities.
  • Face of Academy
  • 2 years
  • Ascend South Western Region, Finished 2nd, losing in finals to 2024 Jacksonville commit
  • Face Off Factory
  • 1 year
  • Number 1 in 2025 Group every training throughout the year in the Southern California Region

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
