Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
My name is Connor Mataczynski (760-710-1669, [email protected]) and lacrosse has been my passion since I found the game. I played many sports growing up but discovered Lacrosse in 5th grade. Since then I have fell in love with the sport and spend my personal time improving my skills. I attend Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego California. I play football and play lacrosse for the Dons. I play midfield and can play both on the offensive and defensive sides of the field. I have a 3.57 GPA and a 27 on my ACT. I will be working my Junior year on both my Lacrosse skills and my studies. I am 5'11" and 163 lbs. . I attend Cathedral Catholic High School because I believe it is the best opportunity for me to prepare myself for college. Cathedral provides a challenging, demanding and competitive environment both in education and athletics. With my desire to be the best, it was the only choice for me.
As a freshman, I was honored to have the opportunity to play on the varsity lacrosse team as a midfielder. We made it into the CIF open division playoffs and unfortunately lost in the semifinals. As a sophomore, I started at midfield and contributed 21 goals on a team that made it to the semifinals in the CIF playoffs. I have spent the last 2 year working hard on and off the field to better myself in both my studies and lacrosse. I have always sought out the best competition possible. I currently play for West Coast Starz 2018 and RC Starz Elite club teams because they provide me with the ability to play the best on the East and West coasts.
I am looking to go to college and study in Business Management with the desire to get into sports management or going to Law School. By playing college lacrosse, it will help me to become more successful when I graduate from college- the demanding task of both playing college lacrosse and keeping up with your studies is rigorous, and would resolve to bettering my ability to balance my schedule and managing my time. I believe my training and experience at Cathedral will help me be prepared for my next journey. I am focused on competing at the highest level post high school and look forward to the experience of seeing were my future leads.
My dream is to play lacrosse at the collegiate level and get a world class education. I want to find the best-fit for me academically, where I can also compete at the highest level of lacrosse. I look forward to meeting you in the future.
