Personal Statement
Throughout my childhood, my upbringing, and into my young adult life, I have been raised with high standards and values. These include honor, respect and devotion. Intertwined in these values is integrity; the action of doing what is right when no one is looking. Since my early childhood years, I have held academics, sports, extracurricular activities, family, and community service to my highest regards.
My main collegiate goal is to incorporate my past experience and values into college academics and college lacrosse. In doing so, I will be a positively contributing member to a college, the lacrosse team, and the community. My aspiration is to acquire a top education while contributing my lacrosse skills and knowledge to help my lacrosse team compete and be a successful winning team.
I have been a team player since first grade competing in soccer, football and lacrosse. I was a team member as a Cadet in the Park County Sheriff Cadet Program. I am an active member in Student Government so I know how to work with my fellow student members to achieve a common goal. To add to community service, I tutor local students in math. I know what it takes to be a team player and give it my all.
I consider myself different from others for many reasons. It is worthy to note that I come from a military family background and I drive a minimum of 40 miles a day in order to receive a better high school education and play lacrosse. At age nine, I earned my black belt in the martial arts and at age thirteen, I received my open water scuba diving certification (SCUBA). I continue to consider myself different because I visit Taiwan every other summer and have learned the language and culture. As one can see, I never quit trying, contributing, and improving!
