Michael Sehlhorst '16 Recruiting Profile

I am looking for a challenging academic and athletic collegiate experience. I believe the harder I am pushed the greater the reward and this applies for both academics and athletics. I began playing lacrosse when I was twelve and for carpool reasons, immediately played up in a higher age bracket. I found the challenge of keeping up with my team mates very rewarding with what could be considered a steep learning curve.

I have since found the experience of playing against seasoned teams to be most gratifying because it pushes my skills, endurance, and tactics. I am easily coached and eager to learn. Since returning to the Florida panhandle, lacrosse is in its infancy and I have sought private lessons. I play on a travel team and participate with a local club team. When I practice with my team I am often asked to assist with practice and coaching.

I feel I am different from other recruits based on my respect for others and respect for others and respect for competition. I have moved often and lived abroad for two years and recognize everybody has their differences and i respect this. I maintain a 3.5 GPA and seek out advanced classes as well as seeking out advanced drills and training.
