2017 High School ...Personal Statement
Lacrosse has come naturally to me. I have played all major sports -- baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and while living overseas in England, I played cricket and rugby. When returning from England as a 5th grader, I moved to Cincinnati, OH, where I first had the chance to play. Although I have played all the other sports, lacrosse is the only one that I have a passion for.
Having moved to Florida, I can play year-round. I also train with a speed and agility trainer. Also, I like to work with the Madlax coaches by taking extra lessons outside of normal practice.
I hope to play in college. I have dream programs which are my primary goal, but I also want to get as much playing time in college as I can, so I have a long list of schools to consider.
My parents have helped me put lacrosse in perspective. Sports builds a winning attitude and playing at the highest levels requires commitment. I can see how drive, commitment, and the desire to win in sports will go beyond lacrosse as I get older.
I play with quiet confidence. Most teams don't realize I am consistently the leading scorer on my team. I am not big. I am not small. I am not flashy. But, I am athletic, conditioned and have great field vision and just get the job done. I like playing the total game of lacrosse. Not just scoring points, but helping the team by grabbing GB's, forcing turnovers, riding hard and playing with passion.
My parents tell me to be patient and that the cream always rises to the top.
